How to choose - some tips!

Choose carefully!

Take into account the subjects you currently like and have some success in!

You will be required to choose more courses than you need just in case one of them does not run.

Choose your own subjects!

It is important that you make choices based on your own interests and abilities.

Don't select a course just because your friends or who you think will teach it.

Discuss your choices with your parents and family

Get advice!

Let your parents know about any costs or safety requirements involved in the courses you are interested in.

Get advice from teachers!

Talk to your Year Advisor, class teacher or the Head Teacher in charge of the course.

Make sure you understand what the course involves and the type of work you will be involved in.

There are no guarantees!

Although a range of elective courses are offered there is no guarantee that they will run. This depends on whether enough students select a course to make it viable.

Develop your skills!

This is your chance to choose courses that you are really interested in!

You also have the opportunity to develop new skills that will be useful in the future.
